news about findasitter's child
I've received the information about the child Findasitter has sponsored. His name is Cesar and he is 3 years old living in a tiny community in the south west of the Dominican Republic. He and his family live in a wooden house with a corrugated iron roof. They have problems getting water without any official supply. PLAN will work with the community where he lives on a project that benefits the whole community and he and his family will now receive visits from PLAN workers and volunteers.
My children are very excited at the photos and information we' ve had in the initial pack but sadly I cannot post photos or information on the internet as it's a breach of their privacy. We will write to Cesar and his family and will explain about findasitter - I expect they will find it hard to imagine a country where it is hard to get a sitter for your family! My children will write on behalf of all the children who benefit from findasitter but let me know if you want to send a message or letter too.
The Dominican Republic shares the Caribbean island of Hispaniola with the country of Haiti. Tourism and agriculture are the backbone of the economy of the Dominican Republic. The main agricultural crops are rice, sugar cane, beans, coffee, tobacco, bananas and cassava.
